I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and looking forward to the Fourth of July holiday weekend! If you are in town, I hope that you will join your friends in neighbors in participating in the following holiday events in our neighborhood!
Parade on Saturday, July 4th!
It’s time for the annual Piedmont Bend July 4th Parade!
Decorate your bikes, strollers and scooters for a patriotic ride through the neighborhood. Riders and their parents should meet at 10:00 am at the intersection of Kinridge Road and Kinridge Trail. The parade will proceed to the pool where everyone can cool off with a dip in the pool or a swing on the playground. Spectators are encouraged!
Independence Day Cookout – Saturday, July 4th!
Continue the day’s festivities with at Cookout at the Pool! The grill will be fired up and PBRA will have the food ready by 2:00. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and sodas will be provided. We do ask each family coming to bring a dish to share. Families with their last name starting with A thru M please bring a side dish and families with their last name starting with N thru Z please bring a dessert to share. We will have some fun games for party-goers of all ages! The weather is supposed to be nice all day (maybe the “isolated” thunder storm), so bring your cooler, a dish to share and and your American spirit!
Other holiday “neighborhood news”
The “Freedom Celebration” at Mount Paran North Church of God will be Friday, July 3rd. The celebration begins at 7:00 p.m. with a patriotic musical tribute to the USA followed by one of Cobb County’s finest firework shows right in the church parking lot. Mount Paran North is located at 1700 Allgood Road.
The Firework Show at Marietta Square is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th. This year’s show will also commemorate the 175th Birthday of Marietta!
Happy Independence Day to all and best wishes for a fun and safe holiday weekend!
